Kip & Susan Bedell planted their first grapevines in 1980, with Kip earning the moniker “Mr. Merlot” from Wine Spectator magazine. Bedell was sold to the Lynne family in 2000. Today, it stands at the forefront of creativity and excellence in the modern American wine industry – widely regarded as the benchmark winery in the eastern U.S. Bedell produces wines that define the North Fork maritime terroir. They combine refined techniques with sustainable farming, indigenous fermentation and artistic blending.
